Emory University essay review

Emory University prints five supplemental prompts for 2026-27 and asks every applicant to write two of them, capped at 200 Words Recommended Length and 150 Words. A NudgeEssay review reads your draft against the Emory University prompt you pick, not against a general checklist: six rubric bands scored 1 to 5, notes on your own sentences in the margin, a map of where a reader's attention holds and where it drops, and a ranked list of fixes with the biggest one first. The first fix and the line a reader kept come back free; the full marked-up report is $49 for one essay or $299 for 20.

The Emory University prompts and deadlines below were read on Emory University's own admissions site on 2026-08-18. NudgeEssay is not affiliated with Emory University and makes no claim about any admissions decision.

What Emory University asks you to write

Word for word, from Emory University’s own admissions pages. Pick the one your draft answers in the box below and the read is judged against that prompt’s own asks.

  1. Supplement 1 · 200 Words Recommended Length

What academic areas are you interested in exploring at Emory University and why?

Emory labels this section "Academic Interests" and states "This question is required. (200 Words Recommended Length)". Note the limit is a RECOMMENDED length, not a hard cap.

  2. Supplement 2 · 150 Words

Emory University has a strong commitment to building community. Tell us about a community that you have been part of where your personal participation helped to change or shape the community for the better.

"Getting to Know You" section. Emory's instruction: "In addition, answer one of the following questions. (150 Words)" - the word "one" is bolded on the page. Option 1 of 4.

  3. Supplement 3 · 150 Words

Reflect on a personal experience where you intentionally expanded your cultural awareness.

"Getting to Know You" section, option 2 of 4.

  4. Supplement 4 · 150 Words

Emory University’s unique mission calls for service to humanity. Share how you might personally contribute to this mission of service to humanity.

"Getting to Know You" section, option 3 of 4.

  5. Supplement 5 · 150 Words

In a scholarly community, differing ideas often collide before they converge. How do you personally navigate disagreement in a way that promotes progress and deepens meaningful dialogue?

"Getting to Know You" section, option 4 of 4.

What the review does to your Emory University essay

It reads the draft cold, the way a stranger with four hundred more files to get through reads it, and answers the question that decides the essay: what is still there a week later. Then it scores six rubric bands from 1 to 5, each with a short quote from your own essay that drove the band and two or three sentences on what would raise it.

It marks your own sentences in the margin, maps where a reader’s attention holds and where it drops across the draft, screens for the patterns that read as AI-written or consultant-written, names the stock archetypes the essay is falling into, and ranks the fixes with the biggest one first. It points at your own material and never writes a sentence for you to paste.

Prompt fit is judged first, before any opinion of the writing: each distinct ask in the Emory University prompt is checked separately, because an essay aimed near the prompt rather than at it is the most common fatal miss in a paid draft.

All 23 checks are listed on what the review checks. Seven complete reports on sample essays are published unedited, exactly as the engine wrote them, on the samples page, and what a college essay grader leaves out explains where the six bands stop and the read begins.

What Emory University reports about admissions

Emory University admits 10.7% of applicants. The middle 50% of enrolled students scored 1470-1550 on the SAT and 32-35 on the ACT.

From the federal College Scorecard, pulled 2026-09-17. Score figures describe enrolled students, not applicants and not admits, and they are not a cutoff. No admission probability is stated anywhere on this site, because colleges do not publish admit rates conditional on a score, so any single percentage would be invented. The free chance me tool sorts a list into reaches, targets and likelies and gives no percentage either.

Questions

How many essays does Emory University require?
Emory University prints five supplemental prompts for 2026-27 and asks every applicant to write two of them, capped at 200 Words Recommended Length and 150 Words. Each prompt is printed word for word on this page and on the Emory University requirements page, with the date it was last read on Emory University's own admissions site.
What is the word limit on the Emory University essays?
The limits run from 150 words to 200 words across the 5 prompts every Emory University applicant meets. Each prompt's own cap is printed beside it above, taken from Emory University's own admissions page. A range such as 150 to 250 words is counted at its upper number.
Is the review written against the Emory University prompts or against a general checklist?
Against the prompt you pick. You choose which Emory University prompt the draft answers before the read starts, and the report judges whether the essay answers that prompt's distinct asks, each one separately, before it forms any opinion of the writing. A well-made essay aimed near the prompt is the most common fatal miss in a paid draft, so prompt fit is judged first rather than last.
