College essay help that keeps every word yours
Have a draft? Get a free read on it below
We don’t write it for you. Experts help you write a better one. You write your college essay. NudgeEssay reads the draft you wrote and shows you what to fix: the one line a reader will remember, where attention drops, which sentences sound like every other applicant, and a revision plan ranked by payoff. Then you revise it, in your own words.
The first read is free and comes back in about 2 minutes. The full report is $25 for one essay, with one free re-read of your revised draft. If you want a person on it as well, a human expert can review your essay on top of the report.

Help writing your college essay, the honest kind
Good college essay help works like a coach, not a stand-in. A coach watches what you do and tells you what to change; the person on the field is still you. For an essay that means a reader who tells you what they remember a day later, where they started skimming, and what they wanted more of, so the rewrite you do next is aimed at the right paragraph.
That matters for more than principle. Your application asks for your own work, and each college sets its own rules on outside help and on AI. An essay that sounds like you is also the one that fits the rest of your application. The material that makes a college essay work, the specific thing only you noticed, is not something anyone else can supply.

How it works, step by step
- Write a complete draft. A finished rough draft can be fixed; half of a good one cannot be judged. Get to the end before you ask anyone to read it.
- Get a cold read. Run the free read to see what a reader takes from it. If you unlock the report, start with the top item on the revision plan, which is ranked by payoff per word changed.
- Revise it yourself. Use your own words and your own material. If you chose Expert review + full revision, read the expert’s revision beside your draft and take the moves, not the sentences.
- Read it again. Every essay includes one free re-read of the revised draft, so you can see whether the change landed before you submit.
Common App, supplements and UC essays
The same steps work for the Common App personal statement, the supplements and the UC Personal Insight Questions. Every school’s prompts and word limits are on the requirements pages, and complete sample reports are free to read, so you can judge the depth before paying for anything. If you have not started yet, how to write a college essay is the place to begin, and where to get a Common App essay reviewed lists the free readers worth asking first.

Each college sets its own policy on outside help and on AI, so check the policy of every school on your list. You are responsible for following each one.
- Is this college essay coaching, editing or review?
- Review and coaching. The report reads your draft the way a tired admissions reader would and tells you what to fix first, with notes on your exact sentences and a revision plan ranked by payoff. It does not hand you sentences to paste in. You do the rewriting, and the free re-read shows whether the change landed.

- Two reviewers, one from finance and one from science, who hire and mentor in the careers these essays are aimed at, and who also teach teenagers math and writing every week. They are not former admissions officers, and we say so rather than imply otherwise.
- Does it help with supplemental essays and UC PIQs too?
- Yes. The review is built for the essay type you submit: the Common App personal statement, a UC Personal Insight Question, a "why this college" essay or another supplement.
- Can you guarantee my essay will get me in?
- No, and nobody honest can. The essay is one part of an application that a college reads alongside grades, courses, activities and recommendations. What we can do is show you what a reader will take from your draft and what to change first.
