No essays at all: Common App takes no personal statement either. Exception: the Journey Honors College.
Kennesaw State University reads no essays at all: Common App takes no personal statement here, and there are no supplemental questions. Admission rides on your transcript, course rigor, and the activities you list. Your writing effort belongs to the other schools on your list.
The Honors College is the one exception Kennesaw State names itself, and it is a real essay. First-year applicants need a KSU-calculated high school GPA of 3.5 or higher, or an ACT of 25 or an SAT of 1200, and can apply either inside their Common App application to KSU or through the separate Honors internal application. The 2027 Honors general essay prompt is published in full: "Describe in detail a specific moment when a conversation, collaboration, or shared experience shifted how you understood yourself in relation to others (your neighborhood, your school, a team, or a community you belong to). How did it shape the kind of learner, neighbor, and collaborator you are becoming?" KSU prints no word limit for it. It is read closely: "Admission to the KSU Journey Honors College is competitive. The essay portion of your application is given particular attention", and the selection committee is told to look for originality, a strong argument, curiosity, care and clean organization. "The use of ChatGPT or any other AI technology is strictly prohibited." For Fall 2027 the cohort and priority deadline is December 15, 2026 and the final Honors deadline is June 30, 2027. If you are not applying to Honors, there is nothing to write.
November 2, 2026 is a priority date, not a closing date: it is the date to work to, and the application stays open past it. The application itself closes July 1, 2027. There is no early round to weigh either way.

What SAT score do you need for Kennesaw State University?
A 1220 puts you in the top quarter of the students who enrolled, a 1110 at their midpoint, and a 1000 at the bottom quarter, meaning one in four enrolled students scored below it. The same three points on the ACT are 19, 22 and 26. A quarter of an enrolled class scoring under the 25th percentile is not a rounding error, so a score below the range is a reason to strengthen the rest of the application rather than a reason not to apply.
US Department of Education, College Scorecard (2026-09-17). Percentiles describe students who enrolled, not everyone admitted. SAT totals are the reading and math bands added together, which is how every source in this market reports them and is an approximation of about 10 to 20 points, because the two sections are correlated.

- What GPA do you need for Kennesaw State University?

What the reported data does say is that Kennesaw State University admits 69.2% of applicants, and the more selective a college is, the closer to the top of the class its admitted students sit and the more the strength of your course load counts alongside the number itself.
