University of Oregon essay review

University of Oregon prints three supplemental prompts for 2026-27 and asks every applicant to write two of them, capped at 650 words or less. A NudgeEssay review reads your draft against the University of Oregon prompt you pick, not against a general checklist: six rubric bands scored 1 to 5, notes on your own sentences in the margin, a map of where a reader's attention holds and where it drops, and a ranked list of fixes with the biggest one first. The first fix and the line a reader kept come back free; the full marked-up report is $49 for one essay or $299 for 20.

The University of Oregon prompts and deadlines below were read on University of Oregon's own admissions site on 2026-08-18. NudgeEssay is not affiliated with University of Oregon and makes no claim about any admissions decision.

What University of Oregon asks you to write

Word for word, from University of Oregon’s own admissions pages. Pick the one your draft answers in the box below and the read is judged against that prompt’s own asks.

  1. Supplement 1 · 650 words or less

The UO is interested in learning more about you. Write an essay of 650 words or less that shares information that we cannot find elsewhere on your application. Any topic you choose is welcome. Some ideas you might consider include your future ambitions and goals; a special talent, extracurricular activity, or unusual interest that sets you apart from your peers; or a significant experience that influenced your life. If you are applying to the UO's Robert D. Clark Honors College, we recommend submitting a separate essay for the honors college prompt and the UO admissions application essay prompt to give those reviewing your application as much information about you as possible.

Listed on UO's requirements page as step 'E. Submit an application essay.' This is the required piece of writing our site is missing entirely.

  2. Supplement 2 · Maximum statement length is 500 words

What have you learned from a social justice issue that inspires you, and how will you apply those lessons to drive change?

Option 1 under step 'F. Optional second essay.' Shared instructions: 'As you've looked into what it will be like to attend Oregon, you've hopefully learned about what makes Ducks Ducks. No two are alike, though, so tell us what makes you you, and how that connects to our campus community. We are interested in your thoughts and experiences recognizing difference and supporting equity and inclusion, and choosing one of the two options below will guide you in sharing those thoughts. You can learn more about equity and inclusion at Oregon by visiting the Equity and Inclusion website. Maximum statement length is 500 words. This statement is not required.'

  3. Supplement 3 · Maximum statement length is 500 words

The University of Oregon values difference, and we take pride in our diverse community. Please explain how you will share your experiences, values, and interests with our community. In what ways can you imagine offering your support to others?

Option 2 under step 'F. Optional second essay.' Same shared instructions as option 1.

What the review does to your University of Oregon essay

It reads the draft cold, the way a stranger with four hundred more files to get through reads it, and answers the question that decides the essay: what is still there a week later. Then it scores six rubric bands from 1 to 5, each with a short quote from your own essay that drove the band and two or three sentences on what would raise it.

It marks your own sentences in the margin, maps where a reader’s attention holds and where it drops across the draft, screens for the patterns that read as AI-written or consultant-written, names the stock archetypes the essay is falling into, and ranks the fixes with the biggest one first. It points at your own material and never writes a sentence for you to paste.

Prompt fit is judged first, before any opinion of the writing: each distinct ask in the University of Oregon prompt is checked separately, because an essay aimed near the prompt rather than at it is the most common fatal miss in a paid draft.

All 23 checks are listed on what the review checks. Seven complete reports on sample essays are published unedited, exactly as the engine wrote them, on the samples page, and what a college essay grader leaves out explains where the six bands stop and the read begins.

What University of Oregon reports about admissions

University of Oregon admits 88.3% of applicants. The middle 50% of enrolled students scored 1130-1360 on the SAT and 23-30 on the ACT.

From the federal College Scorecard, pulled 2026-09-17. Score figures describe enrolled students, not applicants and not admits, and they are not a cutoff. No admission probability is stated anywhere on this site, because colleges do not publish admit rates conditional on a score, so any single percentage would be invented. The free chance me tool sorts a list into reaches, targets and likelies and gives no percentage either.

Questions

How many essays does University of Oregon require?
University of Oregon prints three supplemental prompts for 2026-27 and asks every applicant to write two of them, capped at 650 words or less. Is the review written against the University of Oregon prompts or against a general checklist?
Against the prompt you pick. You choose which University of Oregon prompt the draft answers before the read starts, and the report judges whether the essay answers that prompt's distinct asks, each one separately, before it forms any opinion of the writing.
